Meta-teaching is teaching about teaching. So this section covers any forms of teaching that encompasses this area, and for the majority of sessions, lecture materials including slides are available below for viewing. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
A lecture given in collaboration with Duncan Chan at the Fall TA/TM day at SFU Burnaby on how to start approaching integrating technology effectively in teaching. In combination with an introduction to wikis was a discussion of how to apply technology in the context of a classroom or lab, with consideration of the pitfalls, benefits and assessment of their use.
A lecture given at the Spring TA/TM day at SFU Burnaby on how to start approaching integrating technology effectively in teaching. TAs were presented with three different application groups of technologies in teaching - research, presentations and contact - to gain insight into possible applications, pitfalls and benefits of their use in the classroom or lab context.
A short lecture and discussion lead for the fall and spring SIAT TA training workshops, covering methods to help ease the facilitating of discussions as a teaching assistant. The session was lead in collaboration with Ben Unterman.
