Handiwork

This portion is for my physical handiwork, where I attempt to stitch, glue, sew or otherwise damage various materials to solve issues I'm having with the design of my everyday objects.

Photobooks

2009 - 2011

Mostly as gifts to those I know, I've taken up the habit of designing, printing and binding photobooks. This stems from the fact that I tend to take a lot of photographs, which then get plunked into photobooks. Much to the chagrin of those I know, I tend to pick the most entertaining - often not the most flattering - of photos to put in the book. Just makes for better memories.

Cork Crazy

Dec. 2010

With a certain affinity for the texture of cork, I managed to find reasonably priced rolls of it being sold as fabric (in Vancouver). So I picked up a bit and have been putting it to use since. Available for viewing are a couple of cork inspired solutions:

  1. E-reader Case: I found myself not wanting to purchase a standard case for my e-book reader, so I just stitched my own. As a result it happens to come with a handy notepad slot for writing ideas (and notions) in.
  2. Lens Grip: I purchased a rather old lens with a rather pungent smell of cigarettes lingering in the grip; so it was quickly replaced.
