Film

Not to be confused with what you might wear in summery weather, this section is home to short films done for public consumption or otherwise. Hopefully you may find something that interests or entertains you here.

Bus Rider

2008, 34min, Mockumentary

Description: Bus Rider was a joint project between Maya Hum and myself, which was conceptualized and produced over winter to summer span of 2008. The final film website is now permanently housed at bus-rider.ah-on.ca.

Synopsis: Bus Rider chronicles two unsuccessful film makers who, as a last attempt at success, decide to make a film on a strange profession they discovered in the newspaper classifieds. The occupation is that of being a Bus Rider. Through meeting current professional Bus Riders, a professor studying this career path, and a former executive of the corporation behind bus riding, the two film makers set into motion a perilous chain of events, fundamentally changing the lives of the bus riders, and themselves.

Nat & Noah

Fall 2005, 4min, Experimental

Description: Nat & Noah is a combined effort that was only achievable through the assistance of one Maya Hum. The posts relating to Nat & Noah start in her blog at this point, and in my blog linked to the side. This page hopefully will consolidate all the ideas, concepts, process and the final film nicely, but be sure to read the blogs for more insight.

Synopsis: The progression of the history of film through two characters - Nat and Noah - who are experiencing the process in the form of amazing self discoveries together: Motion, sound, colour, and eventually coming to the realization they are 'trapped' in the medium. Each character is meant to represent one extreme of the response to the film medium, Nat will represent the more explorative, awed audience, whereas Noah represents the more fearful and apprehensive audience.
